Excellent post and great insight! I think this passage from James goes along well with the distinction you are making:

I think I get it backwards at times trying to display my love through knowledge that utterly causes division. I like the way the Apostle Paul says in 2 Cor. 12 :6,”so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me.” HE was very adamant about making sure his knowledge and lifestyle looked the same. I really have to check my knowledge at the door for real…. It is interesting that one simple thing can have such a lasting effect.
